March Favourites

M A R C H ~ F A V O U R I T E S ~ 2018

Yes, I know I’ve been completely MIA on here for the last month, and I’m nearly half way into April telling you about my March favourites….. I’M SORRY. Apart from it being one of the busiest months that I’ve had in a long time, it was also a month of transition from winter to spring (or..almost spring if you live anywhere in southern Ontario) which meant a lot of cleaning out of old clothes….and yup, you guessed it buying of new clothes. Here’s a list of some of my favourite things this last month !

This month I decided to chop all my hair off. My hair grows really fast, and I go through phases every two years or so of wanting to chop it all off and wanting to grow my hair so long that it drags on the floor as I walk…okay, not really to the floor but at least somewhere below my waist. I coloured my hair last May and it had grown way past my waist, and I just really needed a change. A trip to the hairdressers and 10 inches shorter and BAM. Short hair me was born, and I’m thinking she’s here to stay for a while. Not only is the “lob” haircut SO in right now, but it’s so damn manageable. For someone who knows what it’s like to have long healthy hair for a long time, I know how much work maintaining it is. Short hair yes is a lot of work for different reasons but here’s some products that have made my life a lot easier this month (and for the last year).

I LOVE the products from the Moroccan Oil line. Not only do I think it’s made my hair so much healthier, but they products actually work on my hair (oh and they smell AMAZING). These are the products that I use the most. You can find Moroccan oil products at Sephora, and most hair salons.

Along with the Moroccan Oil products, I’ve really been on the hunt for some products that help enhance my natural waves without looking like I got electrocuted. After asking my hairdresser, and a couple other people what they use on their shorter hair to give a effortless beachy vibe, every person recommended the Ouai Wave spray.

Not only does this smell absolutely amazing, but it really does add more body and enhances your natural waves. You can find this at Sephora !

As I said earlier the month of February was SO busy for me. For some reason I have been super into listening to guided meditations. A couple months back I picked up a book, called “Mastering your Mean Girl” by Melissa Ambrosini. I absolutely loved it and just loved the messages that she shared with her readers. I did some more research on her and it turns out she has an entire YouTube channel dedicated to motivating people, guided mediations and a lot of collaborations in the style of podcasts with people covering a wide range of topics.

I’m going to leave a little excerpt of the book below and if you’re feeling like you like what you’re reading PLEASE check her out. She’s a little light in this world, and I’m so glad I discovered her.

MEAN GIRL (noun). That negative, fear-based voice inside your head saying you can’t do something. She is the reason you haven’t gone after your dreams. She’s the voice that says you’re not good enough, pretty enough, smart enough, you will never meet the guy, get out of debt or heal. She is the doubt, the ego, the fear and justifier–everything negative that stops you from living the epic life you’ve always imagined.

The next thing on my list of favourites is an artist that I’ve loved for a very long time. I’ve seen him live and it was one of the best concerts of my life. He is currently in the process of releasing singles off his second album ‘Electric Love’ that is expected to drop May 18th. If you haven’t ever heard any of his music I HIGLY recommend that you give him a listen.

That’s all for my favourites this month, I promise I’ll be back to writing on here a lot more often.
