I don’t know about you but I love a good TED Talk! Being able to access talks from some of the best in the world on YouTube is – SO COOL to me. I really wanted to share some TED Talks that I always find myself going back to listen to, that I think all of you should take a listen as well!
THE POWER OF BELIEVING THAT YOU CAN IMPROVE – CAROL DWECK
I am in the middle of reading a book by Carol Dweck, called Mindset The New Psychology of Success, and if there’s anyone out there who, like me, loves the idea of improving mindset this is for you ! Carol researched the idea of why some humans succeed and why some don’t. This talk dives into the idea of a “Growth Mindset” and how there are always two ways to think about a problem that is slightly too hard for you to solve; are you not smart enough to solve it, or have you just not solved it yet?
THE SKILL OF CONFIDENCE – DR. IVAN JOSEPH
This might just be my favourite TED Talk of all time, but I am incredibly biased as Dr. Ivan Joseph was the Athletic Director and Head Coach of the Men’s Soccer team at the University I attended! Dr. Ivan Joseph is always asked what does he look for when recruiting people, is is their strength, their endurance, or their agility, and he goes on to talk about how the most important skill in athletics and in life is confidence.
IF I SHOULD HAVE A DAUGHTER – SARAH KEY
The first 3 minutes and 46 seconds I used to be able to recite at the drop of a hat. It’s probably one of my favourite poems I’ve ever heard. Sarah goes on to talk about her metamorphosis, and how she journeyed from from a wide-eyed teenager soaking in verse at New York’s Bowery Poetry Club to a teacher connecting kids with the power of self-expression through Project V.O.I.C.E.
I hope you enjoyed this tiny round up of TED Talks that I love to listen to, let me know what your favourite TED Talks are!

Good recos, I will be adding these to my ‘to-watch’! One of my favourite ted talks are Brene Brown’s ‘vulnerability’ chat.
