10 Of My Favourite Feelings | A New Tag

I think if there’s one thing that this quarantine has taught me it’s that I’ve become so much more appreciate of the simple things in life. I’m always go go go, from my work life to my personal life I don’t really ever make time to just be. I find myself reminiscing on the moments in my life when I was my happiest and yearn for them.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s had time to just sit, reflect and really get down to what it is matters in our lives. I came across a couple youtube videos called “My Favourite Feelings” and I absolutely loved it. So I thought why not make it into a tag (if this is already a tag – my bad, but I haven’t seen it around)! I’ll explain the rules of the tag at the end of the post, but let’s dive into the list of my 10 favourite feelings !

1. WAITING TO BOARD A PLANE

For anyone who hates traveling this is probably not a feeling you’d classify as a favourite, but for my fellow travel lovers out there I think you can agree with me when I say there’s something really exciting about arriving at the airport, and waiting to board your plane. There’s so much excitement, and eagerness that completely fills me. From going somewhere new, somewhere with friends or flying to see family you haven’t seen in a long time. While I don’t think travel is something many of us will be doing for a while I cannot wait for my first plane post quarantine.

2. MUSIC FESTIVALS

Gah, I absolutely love music festivals – honestly live music in general. Another one of those things that I don’t think we will be doing for a little while – but the feeling of being free, and listening to music and bands you’ve never really heard of with some of your best friends is just so damn magical.

3. EARLY MORNINGS

I am a morning person through and through, there is something so rewarding about getting up in the early hours of the morning when the world is still so quiet. A nice cup of tea, a good book and a window is all I need.

4. FINISHING A GOOD BOOK

Okay, guys – there is a hint of sadness in finishing a good book of course, I always have trouble saying goodbye to really good characters. But there’s something so exciting about finishing a good book. I love a good love story, so any story that makes my heart hurt with happiness or shatter to pieces with deep pain is usually quickly added to my favourite books list.

If you want to read some of my favourite quotes from my favourite books, you can find them HERE

5. WHEN THE BERS ROLL AROUND

I could possibly be the only person in the entire world who refers to September, October, November and December as the “ber’s” BUT the time from September to December is my favourite part of the year. When the weather starts to change, fall takes over the long summer days, Thanksgiving leads to the buildup of Christmas, there’s nothing else that gives me that warm and fuzzy, let’s cuddle under a blanket feeling.

6. DEEP ROOTED, PAINFUL-BUT-YOU-CAN’T-STOP LAUGHTER

I can’t find words to string together to do this feeling justice. There’s something incredibly healing about this.

7. COMING HOME

Wether it may be from a long trip, or from a sleeping over at a friends house the night before, there’s always comfort in coming home. (A quick little hack for all my girls who travel a lot, ALWAYS wash your sheets before you leave for your trip. It makes coming home all the more exciting)

8. CLEANING (especially clean sheets, do you see a trend?)

I never ever thought that this would end up on my list of feelings that I love, but I learned something important about myself and it’s that in order for me to be the most productive I can be, my space has to reflect that – it has to be clean. I also recently realized that I enjoy purging my life so there’s that.

9. BBQ ON A LONG HOT SUMMER DAY

The smell of BBQ food in the summer can send me into a state of bliss alone, throw in a bonfire, add some family and friends and you have my ideal day.

10. THE SEA AND SAND

Most people hate sand between their toes, I welcome it. Digging my toes in the sand, and swimming in the ocean is one of the most relaxing COMPLETELY FREE AND NATURAL THINGS the world has to offer. I can’t wait for the next time I’m by the ocean again.

1. Princess from The Mindful Modus
2. Pooja from Lifesfinewhine

  2. Ohh this is so cute!! I got a fuzzy feeling inside just reading your list, haha! Early mornings are amazing, it’s the calmest part of my day (except for when I’m asleep lol). It’s the one part of the day where I really feel like anything is possible and I can’t wait to see what surprises are in store for me for the rest of the day. Thanks for tagging me Xandria ❤

  6. This is such a beautiful post! 🙂 And oh, we also call September, October, November and December as ber-months! Almost all of us in the Philippines use that term and it means one thing– Christmas! ❤ Thank you for sharing this list! 🙂

  7. I’m new to your blog and it was so lovely reading about your favorite things!! I too really enjoy the “ber” months (hence my blog name, ha!) Another favorite that we have in common is finishing a good book. It can be a bittersweet time but when you’ve found a new book to call your new favorite, that’s the best!

  8. Howdy would you mind stating which blog platform you’re using? I’m planning to start my own blog soon but I’m having a difficult time making a decision between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something completely unique. P.S Sorry for being off-topic but I had to ask!
